For two years, we tried and prayed for a child. God made us wait and He threw in some growing pains, but finally Magnolia was born. It's quite ironic that her nickname, Maggie, means pearl because I can somewhat relate to an oyster creating a beautiful gem.
When Maggie was born, she was like God's masterpiece! She has been pretty much perfect to us. She is independent, kind, empathetic, hilarious, sweet, intelligent, and pretty darn cute too! She is so special to us! God has absolutely perfect timing!
This year, Maggie has become a routine monster, a chatter box, a giggle worm, and a big sister. She is a creature of habit, almost to a fault. She did, however, get to have her first few sleepovers. The first was when John Crawford was born. She began the year able to say many words, but now she is speaking in complete, sometimes complex, sentences. Maggie is definitely one of the happiest children I know. She loves to laugh and make others laugh. She has developed a great sense of humor; she hides and jokes to make others laugh, but then she ends up giggling! Maggie has become a responsible big sister. She loves her "BoBo" more than anyone! I was so scared to bring another child into the family because she was still a baby, but she has stepped up to the task of being a big sister.
Maggie began sleeping in a big girl bed on Memorial Day. She slept so well, until JC was born. She got back in her routine a few weeks later. She started attending a gymnastics class over the summer. She asked to use the potty for the first time on August 1, and she tinkled in the potty! Mags is not completely potty-trained, but we're not rushing into the process. At this time, Maggie knows all of her colors, most of her shapes, can count to 12, loves to build and cook, and can draw a circle and an M. She loves to read and always has! Her favorite books are Pete the Cat, Go Dog Go, The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, the Bible, and I Love You a Bushel and a Peck. She loves to watch Mickey Mouse and Curious George. She loves to dance, eat donuts, learn about new animals, jump around, play baby dolls, swing, and sing songs.

People say that the "terrible twos" begin around 15 months. We have our moments, but I would say that we've been having the "terrific twos"! We love that little girl so very, very much! It's sad to see her get bigger, but at the same time, I can't wait to see what she becomes.
